3 Beautiful Cottagecore Dreams

Cottagecore Lifestyle

Hello, friends! Let me introduce myself and offer you a peek behind the screen as I dive into my very own cottagecore dream! I’m Terri, and I’m lucky to call a charming little town in Georgia home. My cozy cottage is nestled near a beautiful patch of woods, where I love taking slow, peaceful walks along the paths that stray cats have made.

It’s in this magical space, surrounded by nature, that I feel the most at peace. The woods have a fairytale quality to them, and my neighbors are wonderful. Somehow, I’ve become the favorite human of all the wandering stray cats (no complaints here!). Along with them, I have my loyal, aging Chihuahua. Some days, he greets me with excitement; other days, he might bark at me like I’m a stranger!

Thanks to my amazing sister and brother-in-law, I now have my very own cozy cottage to call home. Since moving in, I’ve embraced the cottagecore lifestyle I’ve always dreamed of. There’s something so special about slow walks through nature, curling up in cozy reading nooks, baking bread on my kitchen island, and journaling by hand, just like I did before computers took over. Life feels richer, slower, and more fulfilling now, and I’m cherishing every moment of it.

Living the Dream, One Cozy Day at a Time

I did it.

I’m living the cottagecore dream, one cozy day at a time!

Plus, I finally took the leap and launched this new site dedicated to all things cottagecore! Ever since moving into my new home, I’ve been dreaming of transforming it into a peaceful haven where I can wake up on my own time, sip coffee or tea from my favorite chipped mug, journal by hand as my pen glides across cool paper, and spend quality time with my many pets. And of course, plan my next homemade meal.

Some Recent Cottagecore Projects

1. A Nostalgic Cookbook Display

Speaking of meals, I decided to display my favorite cookbooks on the wall. After finding some clear floating shelves on Amazon, I can now easily access my cookbooks whenever I want! Even when I already have a meal planned, I love flipping through them, just like my mom used to do with her well-worn Better Homes cookbook, planning out our grocery list. They might not be perfectly straight, but that’s just how I roll!

2. Simple DIY Twine Hangers

It was time to add a little greenery to my space, so I ordered some starter plants on Etsy. After potting them, I created simple twine hangers to display them in my window. A few easy knots, nothing too fancy. I’m all about the cozy vibe over a picture-perfect look. My favorites are spider plants and strawberry begonias. I’ve been growing strawberry begonias for years, so I simply repotted some of the little babies.

3. Cozy Winter Projects

I finished a colorful, cozy afghan just in time for the chilly winter months, perfect for curling up while diving into my favorite cottagecore books. Color is my jam, so it’s as vibrant and cheerful as I dared to go. Right now, I’m working on a daisy granny square afghan, a new quilt, and DIY Christmas decorations, because why not?

I was just watching Martha Stewart’s story and just at the point where it showed her background in homemaking and how much she loves it, and how if influenced other women to embrace this vocation beautifully. Your blog reminds me of that side of her. Love that you are exploring your own homemaking skills and artistry. I’d love to see the rest of it.

I’ll show it all in upcoming blog posts. It’s a tiny 2 bedroom cottage. I turned one bedroom into a craft room.
      Thank you so much. 🧺🥯🪴🪵🌱🕯🐌

I buy cake platters and food platters at thrift stores and I set my floor plants on them to get them up off the floor and give them height. Plus it keeps the kitten out of them. And yes, hangers are fun too.
